Power and Confidence

On this enchanted Spring evening, I lay thinking,

How unschooled I was

Until two years ago;

Soft and tender, as a coiled sapling.

And yet, such energy I had,

Almost similar to that of a tigress.

Now I stand here with

Oh, such velocity and vitality

As though I were a fine, young Mustang.

I trod confidently upon the globe,

Thinking of the power that resides in me;

Of the fire, the wind and the waves.

Today, I stand tall and confident of my presence,

As though I had gobbled up

A drum of 'Felix Felicis' -

Enough to give me the fortune

To last longer than a lifetime.

I am just as powerful as a bear,

Just as tenacious and dignified, and that's rare.

So dare not brawl with me,

For I will persist through the fight

And will someday strike back,

Just the way a river cuts through rock over time.

Oh, what I'd give to feel this confident once again!
